MATT HENERSON

​has appeared locally at the La Jolla Playhouse (Good Person of Szechwan), the San Diego Rep (Hamlet, King Lear, Romance, Brooklyn Boy), North Coast Rep (The Underpants) and Sledgehammer (Three Sisters.)  Regional Credits include the Ahmanson, ACT, American Citizens’ Theatre, A Noise Within, Antaeus, Celebration Theatre, Deaf West, East West Players, Furious Theatre Company, Independent Shakespeare Company, International City Theatre, Main Street Theatre Company, Northern Stage, San Jose Repertory, San Jose Stage Company, South Coast Repertory, Warehouse Repertory and Women in Time as well as Shakespeare festivals in Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles, Marin, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Thousand Oaks and Utah.  Matt has played Macbeth, Leontes, Shylock, Caliban, Bolingbroke, Sir Toby, Touchstone, Dromio, Polonius, Horatio, Lear’s Fool, Chorus in Henry V, Grumio, Gravedigger, Camillo, Capulet, Casca, Porter, Peter, and Puck; also the title role in Brecht’s Life of Galileo, Lopakhin in Cherry Orchard, Mahon in Playboy of the Western World, Tevye, Nathan Detroit and Pseudolus.  Film and Television credits include: The Bernie Mac Show, Torn Apart, Hung, America 101, Christmas Carol, Mars Needs Moms, Ticking Clock, and Disney’s upcoming Jungle Book.  He has a Supporting Actor Dramalogue Award for Schmitz in Firebugs and a Los Angeles Stage Scene Featured Actor Award for Mr. Carter/Ayres in What’s Wrong with Angry.  He holds a BA from Yale and an MFA for UCSD.  Matt lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Nancy, and their daughter, Miriam.
